“Embracing Change: Alternative ways to manage and safeguard fund assets and the financial wellbeing of pension members”

New York, NY. Global Governance Advisors partners, Brad Kelly and Peter Landers, will speak at the NCPERS Accredited Fiduciary (NAF) Annual Conference and Exhibition in New York on May 16, 2018. NAF is a trustee accreditation program specifically designed and tailored for public pension governance. This conference has more than 1,000 trustees, administrators, state and local officials, investment, financial and union officers, pension staff and regulators attend each year. Attendees benefit from the comprehensive educational programming, engaging speakers, and networking opportunities with money managers, investment service providers and public fund colleagues from across the nation.

The GGA partners lead a discussion about alternative ways to manage and safeguard fund assets and the financial wellbeing of pension members. Brad Kelly commented, “We need to understand why the cards are stacked against pension funds in today’s market and how it will be difficult to recover in a timely manner.” Peter Landers added, “trustee fiduciary duties compel them to find alternative ways to administer their funds and manage their assets.”

The GGA tandem will explore alternative ways in which pension funds could cut administrative and money management costs and proactively reinvest the savings to gradually narrow any funding gaps; and identify easy first steps in reviewing the structure of fund management.
